Three Reasons I Use Gmail for My Email and You Should Too

gmaillogoThere are so many options for email now.  Whether you are new to email or have been doing it for awhile, I want to suggest you use Gmail.  I have used others in the past including hotmail and yahoo.  I have friends that use everything.  The best experience I have had, however, has been with Gmail.

Here are 3 reasons why you should switch to, or start with Gmail:

  1. It’s Simple.  Of all of the emails I have used over the years, the layout of Gmail is the best.  It is simple to use for a beginner or a technology expert.  Although it does have labels for you to use to file your emails, I rarely use this feature.  Usually I just archive an email when I am done with it, and then if I ever need to access it again, all I need to do is type in a word from the email into the search, and vewala.  There is my email.
  2. It’s Secure.  If you want to be completely secure from hackers and identity theft, stay off the internet.  If that is not the best solution for you, use Gmail.  At least a couple of times a month I get strange emails from people I have not contacted in years, with an odd link in the message.  Do not ever click on the link!  These are hackers looking to access your personal information and your contacts list.  All I can say is that I do not remember this ever happening to a Gmail account.  Also, I receive almost no spam with Gmail, which was not the case before I switched.
  3. You Get Free Stuff.  As you become proficient with technology, you will find that Gmail has several benefits including enormous storage space, Google Drive, Picasa, Google Plus, Google Calendar and more!

I have only listed a few reasons why I believe Gmail is the way to go with email.  What do you love about Gmail?  Please share in the comments section.

I agree! I love it. The search feature is fantastic. Other things I love. . . GChat, how well it (and all things Google) integrate on my Android, Google Docs, etc.

I have my own domain but I do use Google apps to power my email. It’s great because it easily allows me to have a G+ profile with my domain email. Which is thought to be very useful toward google’s eventual Authorship algorithm. And I get all the other benefits of having gmail – Drive, Calendar, etc! Win!! 🙂

Addie, I’m glad you brought that up. I also use Google Apps for Business to power my email. It is wonderful to have my own domain and still have the benefits of the gmail interface. I am not familiar with the Authorship algorithm. You’ll have to tell me more. Thanks for posting.
