Be Healthy

pea on fork

I wrote the following several months ago, but kept it secret in case I flaked out.  Good news.  I have stuck with it.  If you are where I was when I wrote this, you will be impressed.  If you go to the gym, you probably will not count my exercise as exercise.  It’s okay.  We can all still be friends.  Here it is:

It is Sunday morning, January 27, 2013.  5:09 am.  I get up and start exercising again.  It has been awhile.  In fact, I think it has been over a year since I have done any kind of intentional exercise, and years since I was consistent.  That is sad, I know.

It is time to make a change.  I am 20-30 lbs overweight.  My energy level is low and on the decline.  I can hardly keep up with my three kids.  Oh, and I would really like to be around to watch them grow up.  I need more hours in the day at work.  I am not sure how other people get it all done.

So I am making some changes.  Since Christmas I have started improving my diet some and today I started exercising.  There are many things that have motivated me to do this, but here are two resources that have pushed me over the roadblock of not wanting to exercise.

1) Be Goals by Chris Paulk – This post encouraged me to set Be Goals for myself in 2013.
2) 10 Practical Ways to Boost Your Energy Level [Podcast] by Michael Hyatt – This podcast motivated me to pursue an increased energy level, rather than just losing weight.

I would like to encourage you to actually check both of these out this week.  So let’s end this post here.  After you check them out, please leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

What is your next step in the area of being healthy?  What are you going to start or stop?
