Evernote is by far my secret to productivity. It helps me do so much, from remembering facts and people to getting stuff done. One nice feature of Evernote is the Web Clipper.
Lets say you are surfing the web and you come upon an article you want to keep in order to 1) read it later or 2) to archive for a later purpose. Using the Evernote Web Clipper you simply click a button at the top of your browser and voila, the article is sitting as a note in Evernote where you can easily access it when you are ready.
Until recently, that was it. Now, if you use Google Chrome as your web browser (which I recommend), Evernote has added some addition features.
- New ways to Clip
- Share the note
- Use Skitch to add annotations, shapes and sketches
All of these can be done before you send it to Evernote. You can still easily select the Notebook and Tags you want as well.

Web Clipper is one of my favorite aspects of Evernote as well. I use it to quickly save articles that inspire my own blog posts, to keep recipes and instructions (recently the correct way to clean a bicycle’s gears), to just about everything else. Being able to categorize and tag right from the clipper lets me store and sort articles into my many (many) Evernote folders.

Thanks for some details on how you use it Trevor. Always helpful to see how others use it. I’ve use it to show me how to use stuff as well, and of course, for articles. Many Evernote folders? Interesting. I’ve been a minimalist till recently. We’ll have to talk about that sometime.

I use my Evernote web clipper all the time. It’s how I collect recipes and links that I want to save. 🙂 what a lifesaver in terms of organization and search-ability!
