    Enemy

Did you know God loves you? I know what you are thinking. “Adam, you don’t even know me.” This is true, but God does know you and he loves you. This is at the core of the Christian message. Some people stuggle to believe God actually loves them, but he does. As amazing as this truth is, what blows me away even more is what God thinks about our enemies. Go ahead. Think of a person or group of people that you don’t like, or might even consider to be your enemy. Is your stomach turning? Perhaps your blood pressure is rising. That person…those people…make you angry. Consider this. Jesus…

    Don’t Finish That Book!

No, this is not me rebelling against reading. Yes, I do struggle to read. I am a slow reader and I prefer learning by other methods. However, I believe in being a reader. This productivity tip has been one I picked up from Michael Hyatt’s Podcast #055: How to Read a Non-Fiction Book. Michael gives several great tips and this one has stuck with me. It is you.” Again he looked around and said, “Nooo, Adam. Who told you to say that?” Quickly bringing a bright red of embarrassment…

How Do You Live a Life of Service and Keep Your Day Job?

When I was in college, I had the amazing opportunity of joining a fraternity. I’ve heard many negative stories about the Greek System, and I believe them. My experience, however, was extremely positive and it was there that I first began to look outside of my little bubble to see all the many needs in the world. I developed a desire to live a life of service. I know a lot of people who work or volunteer in the nonprofit world. Thank you to all of you for what you do. But if you don’t work in nonprofit work, you can still live a life of service. Here is a…

Allowance, Spending vs. Saving, and My 4 Year Old

It has begun in the Suter home. We are giving our kids an allowance now. There is a good chance we are not doing it right, but we reserve the right to change the rules. 🙂 CJ, in particular has been excited about getting an allowance. He had saved up $7.00 and was ready to make his first purchase. He had been talking about getting a Ninja Turtle toy at the store. Before he had a chance, though, I took him to a garage sale. You know what’s about to happen don’t you? He saw a whole bag of toys for just $4.00. It had several wrestlers and a transformer.…
