    Thank You Sunrise and Evernote

    My favorite calendar app (Sunrise) just got together with my favorite app of all time (Evernote) and it is a beautiful thing. I mentioned in a previous post about starting to use Sunrise for my calendar when I’m mobile. Sunrise continues to be a great addition for my daily toolbox. Now I can connect it to Evernote. Since I use reminders in Evernote, they appear on my calendar, in green of course. They will even allow you to click on it and go to the note in Evernote. LOVE IT!     Genesis 1

    We just started a new sermon series at my church on Genesis. Sometimes the preachers do topical studies, but we are about to go through all of Genesis! Should be good. Here is what is sticking out to me so far. Don’t twist science to fit the text. Don’t twist the text to fit science. Look at the text and who it was written to, a nonWestern culture several thousand years ago. They didn’t have iPhones or Google (that’s my addition to this point).     I’m Back!

    You may have noticed that I haven’t been blogging the past few weeks. This is because I’ve been doing a 3 week long Kid’s Camp through Mid-City Ministries. Forgive me. I’m back. This brings up a good question. Which is more important, doing your nonprofit work or blogging about it? The temptation is to focus on doing the work and not worry about blogs, newsletters, social media, etc. The problem is that in nonprofit world, you are dependent on donors to fund your work.
