    My Evernote ScanSnap

As I mentioned previously, I recently got an Evernote ScanSnap. I am looking forward to setting it up and using it. It is going to be a great addition to my productivity toolkit. Still brainstorming, but here are some of the things I am considering it for: 1) Old Pics – We have hundreds of pictures that are not digitized. Although I do not plan to keep them in Evernote longterm, it will be a great way to get them quickly digitized. Then I can put them wherever I want. There is even a feature to have the scans also downloaded to your hard drive. 2) Random Documents – Do you…

But wait. There’s more.…

The New Version of GTD is Out!

What is GTD? It stands for Getting Things Done and it is a book about productivity by David Allen. More than just a book, it is a methodology for how to live a productive life. If your life is anything like mine, your list of to do items includes things like change the lightbulb in the kitchen, write up that report at work, make plans for vacation, prep study for church, call those 5 people when I get to the office, etc. GTD helps you get your life in order so you can get those things (everything) done. Originally written in 2001, the old version, while quite amazing, incorporates technology…

    Priorities

“Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.” ~ Proverbs‬ ‭24‬:‭27‬ Into the agricultural society this passage was spoken into, the meaning was clear. Focus on the first things first. Do not become distracted by the comfortable in exchange for the necessities. As with this audience, the same is true today. Work is important for us. It gives us purpose. We all need to be needed. Our work provides purpose for us. Rest is also important though. The verse above does not tell us to build our house whenever we get around to it. Rhythms of rest are important for us to…

Should I Ask For Support Or Just Pray About It?

Support Raising is a process many ministries and individuals use by which they rely completely on the generosity of individuals, churches and organizations to provide for their financial needs. As nonprofits, these donations are tax-deductible. While the process can seem intimidating, a lot of ministries use this model and many have found it to be a huge blessing even apart from the financial benefit. The Prayer Model Within the support raising world, their are two camps. The first says you should rely completely on God for support and never talk to supporters or potential supporters about money. You just need to pray about your support. Currently I am taking the Perspectives Course.…
