Soak It In: Experiencing Death and Life

When you have experienced the death of a loved one, you learn to appreciate those who are still alive.

You are never ready to lose someone you love. It always catches you off guard, even when you are “expecting” it. The fog surrounding you as you prepare for this persons departure, prevents you from truly being ready to never again make another memory with them.

So you must soak it in.
The time with the ones still here.
You soak it in.
The laughs, the cries, the good and the bad.
You soak it in.
Smiles, words of encouragement, a loving touch.
You soak it in.
A special time of joy.
You soak it in.

And when you get towards the end, you are able to say, in spite of many tragedies,
“Life was good.”
“God is generous.”

You close your eyes and squeeze out the many wonderful moments you soaked in over the years.
And you laugh.
And you cry.

Soak it in. Soak this life in.

It will be 5yrs on May 28th that Jerry has been gone. That day changed my life forever. I’m not the same person anymore. When I found him that morning gone I knew in my heart that he got what he so desired. To go home. I miss him more now than ever. He was a man of such great faith and loved his God with all his heart. I look forward to heaven and can’t wait to see him again. I miss you Jerry. My children and grandchildren miss you terribly. Oh how we wish we could have said Goodby. But God in his perfect will knew what he was doing that morning. ThankYou Adam for letting me share.
