It was the last day of family vacation. I had enjoyed a great week with my wife, kids, cousins and other extended family. I had stole away early one morning to sneak a peek of the ocean one last time.
The sun was just beginning to gain steam. The waves crashed over the shore. It was picturesque. I took in a deep breath and waited patiently for this moment to last forever. My mind was at rest.
Then I saw three pelicans swoop across the waves. They were flying over the water, ever so close. If a wave had hit at the right moment it would have grabbed them. The uniformity, speed and simplicity with which they glided over the ocean captured me. “Beautiful,” I said aloud.
Then I heard a still small voice whisper, “Adam, when you are doing what I created you to do, people will be amazed when you do it.”
This challenged me. Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing? If not, why not?
What about you? Are you doing what you are supposed to be doing? If not, why not?
