    Baby and Bath Water

    We have all heard the saying, “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.” Good advice. It is important to not throw away the good when we are making changes. It can be hard to determine how best to do this, though. We can also use this proverb to keep us from taking risks. The result can be more of the same, which could be worse. I’d love to get your advice. How do you make changes and keep the good without throwing out the bad?

    Video Call Tips

    If you do a decent amount of video calls, I’d love to get your advice. Whether you are using Skype, FaceTime, or, my new favorite, Zoom, there are several things you can do to prepare well for your call. Here are my tips: 1) Lighting – Make sure the lighting of the room is such that your face can be seen. It really looks bad when you are shaded and hurts the quality of the video. 2) Interruptions – Make sure you are not going to have interruptions. This includes people, devices, etc. Turn on “Do Not Disturb” on your phone and laptop. Make sure those around you know not to…

    Love Your Job

    Recently I flew on Air France. It was a 7:15 am flight, so I had to be at the airport at 5:00 am.   Both the gentleman who checked me in and the lady who was my flight attendant did a fabulous job. It seemed as if they loved their jobs.   Some will say it is unimportant to love what you do. I disagree. Our work must move us. It must motivate us to get out of bed in the morning, even if it is ridiculously early.   Because two people love what they do, Air France has a new fan. Thank you for the experience!
