So You Want To Homeschool

There are many options available for education these days. All are wonderful. Because we homeschool, we often get asked about it. If that is you, this post will help you get started.

Note: If you want someone to convince you why one form of education is better than another, you probably should look somewhere else. You are a good parent. You will do what is right for your family. If you have already decided to do homeschooling, here are some great resources.

Start Here: There are a lot of different ways to homeschool. My wife leads the way homeschooling our kids. I play a support role. One of the articles I found helpful in understanding the options is Homeschooling: Which Model Is Right for You?

Go Deep: I am sure you can google with the best of them. If you are looking for a great place to get a lot of resources, I suggest Homeschool.com.

Go Here: My wife has checked out a lot of resources and been to a few conferences. Her favorite conference is Great Homeschool Conventions. I started going with her and it has been wonderful for me as well. We highly recommend it!

Our Favorite Classical Resource: We do Classical Education (see the first link above) with our kids and have since the beginning. Our primary guide for this is the book, The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise-Bauer.

This should get you started. Feel free to reach out to us with questions. It can get overwhelming quickly, so remain calm and take one step at a time.
