Work That Matters

April Series

Over the past week I shared these initial reactions on the Coronavirus:

  1. Decide to Change Forever
  2. Essential and Extra
  3. What Is God’s Will For My Life?
  4. A Better Response

Now that we are in lockdown for another month, I plan to write a series of posts on the following themes:

  1. Listen – This continues to be a season of slowing down for many. The opportunity to be still and know God is God is huge. I hope to give little bits of encouragement as you pursue Jesus on a daily basis. If we can all silence our fears and focus on God, great things will happen. May you find opportunities to listen to what God wants to tell you.
  2. Healthy Habits – Many people are spending a lot more time at home than they are used to. Also, our normal life has been disrupted tremendously. Now is the time to recover and establish some healthy habits moving forward. Looking to share some of my own but also hear from others on this.
  3. Homeschool – Some parents are looking for tips to make it through till they can get their kids back to school. I imagine others may actually end up liking this homeschool thing, like we did when we first dabbled with it. I plan to give tips, advice and hacks for both. Of course, my main source will be my wife. She does all the heavy lifting on this in our home.

Hopefully these topics will be helpful to some of you as you continue through this unique season of life, and history. If you need someone to talk to, hit me up. I’d love to listen.

I’ve also considered talking about house church, but I think everyone is pretty much covered with all the online options. Besides, I would probably talk less about doing church in your house and more about house church. I don’t think we are ready for that though.

At some point, I’ll probably talk about community. This is a big passion of mine. The current situation is definitely adding to my ideation on the topic. Right now I don’t know where I will land though. Please send me your ideas on how this is impacting your views and rhythms in regards to community.

Okay, April, here we come! Let’s have a great month. Looking forward to establishing some great spiritual rhythms, productive habits and a great end to the school year. Let us begin!
